Phillip Schmidt on OER in Africa

Rating 3.00 out of 5

Most Open Education initiatives to date were launched by well established universities in the West. Phillip Schmidt from the University of Western Cape introduces the student-led RipMixLearners project at UWC and discusses the lack of funding for Open Educational Resources (OER) in Africa. We also talked about peer 2 peer university, which is set to launch in early 2009.

I think Phillip very clearly points out  the possible impacts of different “Wes” on education systems.
